Cookie and Privacy Policy

Cookies

The vast majority of cookies in use on the website are deployed by third party applications and these will subsequently have their own, independent cookie policy.

The third party applications are in place to acquire generalist metrics to help us establish which content is best received by our audiences, informing our future editorial schedule. These metrics include (but are not limited to) the volume of traffic or number of social media shares both articles and webpages receive in addition to, more specifically, what page a subscriber subscribed on.

If you wish to disable these third party cookies, this is possible via your browser. For more information, visit the IAB’s website http://youronlinechoices.com/uk.

What information do we hold?

Upon subscribing to our newsletter(s), we ask for information to identify you and your preferences in a two stage process to help us best serve your wants and needs.

To initially subscribe (stage one), we require your name and email address in order for you to benefit from our newsletter, ongoing updates and occasional offers from carefully selected, third party companies. To access additional, optional premium content (stage two), a two-factor authentication process is undertaken which requires your mobile telephone number and the completion of a short survey, designed to obtain additional insight into both your interests and financial position. The IP address used at the time of subscribing is also recorded so that we can tailor campaigns and offers suitable for both your preferences and location. Such details are stored securely and are associated with your username (email address).

Managing your subscription

Your details will be stored on our database and you will continue to receive our news letter(s), updates and offers until you either tell us that you no longer wish to receive such communications (ie: unsubscribe) or you are no longer engaged with our emails.

To unsubscribe from all communications from The Lazy Trader Ltd, please click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the footer of any email received by us and follow the prompts to manage your settings. Alternatively, contact us via email: [email protected] to request being unsubscribed.

You will be automatically unsubscribed if you are deemed to be “unengaged”. This will arise if you have not opened an email from us within 4 months.

Data security

Considerable investment and time have been dedicated to ensuring data remains secure. As demonstrated by the website’s SSL certificate, all information provided by you is encrypted and sent to an independent password protected portal. We do not store any of your personal information on the website or its server. The website is PCI DSS compliant and scans are conducted on a monthly basis (via Trustwave) to ensure the highest security standards are routinely maintained.

Disclosing your information

The Lazy Trader LTD would never sell or share any share your information externally unless legally required to do so by a court of law. In addition to our branded campaigns, we periodically feature carefully selected, third-party companies and offers which we deem to be aligned with your specified preferences. These are implemented internally via our in-house email service provider (ESP). If you do not wish to receive such offers, please feel free to unsubscribe (link at the footer of any email received by The Lazy Trader Ltd) or email info (at) thelazytrader (dot) com at any time.

Updates to our privacy policy

Our privacy policy is periodically reviewed and any will be reflected here.
